Rolf Meyer-Reumann, German national, is the co-founder and senior partner of Meyer-Reumann & Partners with nearly 30 years of experience in the Middle East. Mr. Rolf Meyer-Reumann is the Lawyer of Trust of the Austrian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Dutch Consulate General in Dubai. Rolf Meyer-Reumann contributed numerous speeches to seminars in the Gulf and in Europe and has written numerous articles on various legal subjects.

Background
After serving ten years in the German merchant navy, he obtained his master-certificate (A6) in 1969. From 1969 to 1974 he studied law in Hamburg followed by the obligatory apprenticeship (Referendarszeit). He was admitted to the bar the Hamburg Courts in 1977. From 1977 to 1982 he practiced as lawyer in Hamburg mainly in shipping matters. In 1981 he drafted several maritime by-laws for Saudi Arabia.
Rolf Meyer-Reumann was the first German legal consultant to operate within the Arabian Peninsula. He started in a co-operation with a Saudi law firm in Jeddah in 1982. In 1989 he opened his own office Meyer-Reumann Legal Consultancy in Dubai, UAE. 1994 Rolf Meyer-Reumann opened the office in Abu Dhabi to support the close relations to UAE Ministries and Governmental institutions, realizing the enormous potential of Abu Dhabi for the bi-lateral relation between German/European and UAE companies.
Rolf Meyer-Reumann devotes 1/3 of his time to the office in Abu Dhabi and his basic functions related to Abu Dhabi are:
- Developing and strengthen the German, Austrian and Dutch and Italian commercial ties with the United Arab Emirates in general and those with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular;
- Developingp legal structures for Abu Dhabi related pilot projects, complex regional projects, major bi-lateral investment projects etc.;
- Supervising the expansion of growth of the office in line with the HR-Strategy Plan of the Meyer-Reumann & Partners, Abu Dhabi;
- Structuring and supervise the development of the Abu Dhabi based Legal Data Bank and to coordinate the software development wit the IT-Department of the office in Abu Dhabi;
- Supervising and to structure the vocational training of the lawyers, legal consultants and paralegals of Meyer-Reumann & Partners, Abu Dhabi, in order to safeguard a high quality standard;
- Organizing, supervise and participate in seminars and workshops on legal and commercial topics of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the Middle East, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Italy.
