Tobias Speer, German national, has joined Meyer-Reumann & Partners (previously Meyer-Reumann Legal Consultancy) in Dubai in January 2012. He focuses on advising mostly European companies regarding their business activities in the Gulf Region, on such matters such as setting up of business, corporate restructuring, drafting and negotiating of agreements, international taxation and commercial agency.

Background
Tobias Speer studied law at the Faculties of Law of the Potsdam University (Law Degree, First State Examination), Germany. During his studies he focused on in International Private Law, Corporate and Commercial Law. As a student he took a second degree in business administration, which gave him a deepend knowledge not only of legal problems but also the links to commercial issues.
During his lawyer apprenticeship, Tobias Speer joined Meyer-Reumann & Partners in Dubai from July 2009 to September 2009 as a Trainee Lawyer.
Tobias Speer is also involved in improving Meyer-Reumann & Partners‘ software and programs (Contract Wizard, Legal Databank) in a team with the IT-Department and is in charge for web statistics and the webpage.
Tobias Speer’s basic functions are:
- Drafting, reviewing, amending and negotiating commercial and corporate contracts
- Developing corporate structures
- Advising clients on setting up of companies in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar including Free Zones
- Advising and coordinating legal procedures at local courts and arbitration
- Advising clients on trademark infringement and product counterfeiting matters
- Advising clients as to a market-entry in Qatar
