Profile

Dr. Michael Krämer joined Meyer-Reumann & Partners in January 2015 as a Senior Lawyer. Michael advises various multinational companies, primarily from the automotive, pharmaceutical, shipping and aviation sectors, on an ongoing basis and on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. His practice focuses on international trade and compliance matters, with specific emphasis on markets in the MENA Region.

On a personal level, Michael is interested in topics involving renewable energy and e-mobility. He served as a Member of the Board and Legal Director for the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA) from 2012 to 2014 and is a frequent speaker at renewable energy related conferences throughout the Middle East and Europe.

Background

Dr. Michael Krämer has been working in the UAE since 2005. Prior to joining Meyer-Reumann & Partners in 2015, Michael worked with a large international law firm since 2007. Having been admitted to the German Bar in 2004, he obtained a Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, in 2002 and a PhD in law (Dr. jur.) from Bayreuth University in Germany in 2006.

Dr. Michael Krämer’s work focuses mainly on:

  • Advising clients on distribution models throughout the MENA Region;
  • Advising clients on compliance matters (i.e. general anti-trust, anti-bribery, competition and import/export related compliance matters, as well as industry specific compliance issues and internal investigations);
  • Advising in relation to the conclusion and termination of commercial agencies;
  • Providing assistance with market-entry processes and corporate housekeeping;
  • Providing assistance with mergers, acquisitions and restructuring proceedings;
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements; and
  • Providing ongoing legal advice in relation to day-to-day commercial matters.
